As the House of David became established in Benton Harbor, curious visitors came to the colony to see firsthand what was happening. Brother Benjamin had this ice cream parlor constructed behind the Bethlehem and Jerusalem dwelling houses to serve these guests and to provide income for the colony. The House of David was one of the first to offer the waffle cone in Michigan.
