Israelite House of David - Park Advertisement

This early advertisement on St. Joseph's waterfront encouraged passengers of the many steamships that came across the lake from Chicago to take the street car lines to the park. St. Joseph and Benton Harbor had a long history of being a popular weekend destination for Chicagoans, and Eden Springs Park added to the attraction. Brother Benjamin is visible along with several colony members. The small boat, the Morning Star, was built at the House of David.
